Volunteer Positions and Descriptions
Food Service: Assist in delivering and serving meals to volunteers and PHC guests.
Intake: Work one-to-one with guests to assist them in finding the services they need at the event. Ability to speak a second language is a plus, but not necessary.
Line Coordinator: Ensure that guests waiting in lines have proper documents and are in the correct line. Ensure that line queues in an efficient manner.
Exit Survey Volunteer: Assist the Exit Survey Team by asking each guest that leaves the event a few survey questions. This survey will help us gather important information about the success of the event for each guest and what we can do to improve the event in the future.
Floater: Walk around the River Center and identify areas that may need additional volunteers or fewer volunteers. Help PHC organizers ensure that volunteers are utilized in an effective manner in all areas.

Providor Check-in: Check-in providers as they arrive for their shifts. Distribute t-shirts to providers as necessary.
Trainer: This position is for previous Saint Paul Project Homeless Connect volunteers only. Provide on-site training to people who did not sign up for a training and give them a tour of the facility.
Service Provider Assistant: Assist service providers such as legal, housing or mammograms to check-in clients, distribute paperwork and manage lines.
Greeters: Greet guests as they arrive at Project Homeless Connect and direct guests to the intake volunteers. Direct volunteers arriving for their shift to the volunteer check-in area.

For returning St. Paul Project Homeless Connect Volunteers there are some changes to be made aware of. Please read as follows:
For all of you who are either planning or considering volunteering at Project Homeless Connect this year on June 25th – THANK YOU ! Since we value not only YOU, but also the input that you and guests have contributed over the years, we have made a number of changes this year in an effort to always improve.
Some of these changes include:
More consistent trainings. This year they take all place at Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul - where there is always FREE parking!
More event space. This includes both service AND volunteer space! Once at the event, you’ll see that:
· The Intake area has been moved to the concourse, where there are windows and direct community engagement with guests.
· Intake volunteers may sit during their shift or choose to both sit and guide guests around the event. This leaves room for a …
· Volunteer Break Area that is set aside from the action. It also means …
· Checking in near the break area when you arrive. Don’t worry, because …
· A welcome team will guide you there.
· Housing Services has expanded to its own area. And …
· Food will be served onsite with more line space and better line control to minimize your wait
